This superb track-ready GT3 is thrilling, raw and one of the best Porsche cars available for the money. Available now at Classic Insider.
The 996 GT3 track focused model was introduced in 1999 and ran until 2005. The engine very much set it apart from most Porsche 996 models, although it shared the same basic design of the standard so-called "integrated dry sump" flat-six engine. The naturally aspirated engine was based on the unit used in the Porsche 962 and 911 GT1 race cars. The engine uses the versatile dry-sump crankcase with an external oil reservoir and remained naturally aspirated. The GT3 manages a 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and a quarter mile time of 12.0 seconds at 118 miles per hour.
