Ferrari 599 GTB | #SOLD

BACKGROUND AND HISTORY:

Styled by Pininfarina under the direction of Ferrari's Frank Stephenson, the 599 GTB Fiorano was at its time, Ferraris two-seat flagship, the successor to the 575M Maranello which it replaced it in 2006. The 599 took its name from its engine displacement, Gran Turismo Berlinetta nature, and the Fiorano Circuit test track used by Ferrari. The 599 is of course a spiritual successor to the legendary 250 GT, 275 GTB and Daytona. With an Enzo-derived 5999cc V12 shoehorned into what was the latest generation all-alloy chassis, the 620bhp GTB was at the time Ferrari's most powerful V12 production car ever.

When launched in 2007, the 599 GTB Fiorano became Ferrari's new flagship two-seater, offering peak performance in the Italian sports car manufacturer line-up. The flagship for Ferrari received a host of technological refinements including SCM Magnetorheological suspension and the debut of F1-Trac, a sophisticated traction control management system tailored to improved performance.

A V12 engine, hallmark of Ferrari sports cars, served as the power unit. An aluminum 6.0-liter twelve-cylinder engine was one of the most powerful naturally aspirated powerplants ever installed in a production car. Generating an astounding 620 horsepower and 448 pound-feet of torque, the engine for the Fiorano channeled power through an F1-SuperFast transmission delivering rapid paddle shifting in 40 milliseconds. Capable of traveling up to 330 kilometres per hour, the 599 GTB can achieve acceleration from 0 to 100 Km. per hour in only 3.7 seconds! Inside the two-passenger interior of the 599 GTB Fiorano, a multitude of high-end handcrafted touches accent the cabin such as panels constructed of aluminum and carbon fiber give the flagship Ferrari a heavy dose of personality.

The Driving Experience

The car starts with a press of the F-1 inspired steering wheel starter, igniting into a glorious resonant rumble, filling the cabin with authority. Once underway, the power is smooth and progressive under gentle city driving, with no hint of the extraordinary speed and acceleration this phenomenal car is capable of achieving. Entering the highway, acceleration is crisp and riveting as 60 mph comes up in a matter of seconds. Stability and braking are excellent, offering touring composure and spirited passing literally at your fingertips.
